Firstly however, please make sure that you understand the nature of the counties described on our websites and the work of the Association:
- We use the term ‘county’ to mean one of the historic counties.
- When describing geographical locations, we refer the historic county associated with that location.
- The Association of British Counties works to promote the historic counties and cannot advise on local authority areas or any other form of geographical area which uses the term ‘county’.
