The flags in this group are\u00a0novel creations, in many\u00a0cases they\u00a0feature symbols or themes already found in the county, e.g. the Stafford Knot, but the flag as a whole is a modern contrivance – no such pattern has previously existed in this form and the proposal cannot therefore be registered as a “traditional” design, albeit that a charge appearing on the flag may be traditionally used in a given location.
