Bedfordshire Day is celebrated each year on 28th November, the birthday of John Bunyan. Bedfordshire Day 2024 was another wonderful celebration of the county. Huge thanks are due to our friends at the Friends of Bedfordshire Society and to the many people and organisations which took part.

This year BBC Radio 3 played Bedfordshire-related pieces of music throughout the day – something which would be a great idea on other county days too!

Meanwhile the Wardown House Museum and Gallery played host to a recital of “The Balled of Bedfordshire” – a collaborative poem performed by Debra Knight, Poetry Champion for Bedfordshire.

The annual Bedfordshire Day civic celebration – attended by dignitories and by representatives from councils across the county – were hosted in 2024 by Sandy Town Council.

We present some highlights from the celebrations around the county.
