Designing a county flag

Flag Institute Guide to Creating Local and Community Flags
Flag Institute Guide to Creating Local and Community Flags
  1.  For a county flag to be effective, it is important to consider how the flag will relate to the county – its history and identity – and also how it will look when hoisted up a flag staff – will is be easily recognised? At all stages in the process of designing a flag, the guidance contained in the Flag Institute’s guide to Creating Local and Community Flags (available to download from this page) will be invaluable.
  2. Consider other proposals, how will your design be received. The forums and other places for discussion will be useful for critique and development of your design. Why not contact the ABC to discuss your ideas?
  3. Consult the Flag Institute, they will be more-than-willing to help you develop your design and discuss the next steps to bring your design forward to a competition.
