Now is your chance to have your voice heard and save the Stafford knot… but time is running out. The Association of British Counties has uncovered plans for Staffordshire County Council’s flag to be registered as the county flag of Staffordshire despite the design making the Stafford knot relatively obscure.

“It is a beautiful coat of arms; a really bad county flag”

What do Staffordians think?
“I would be appalled to see the symbol that represents the county of my birth being made to play second fiddle — especially on a county flag.”
Martin Philips, ABC Committee Member
“Staffordians should be proud of the fact that their county has one of the most recognisable symbols amongst all the counties: the ‘Staffordshire Knot’. It is unthinkable that this should not be the most prominent feature on any Staffordshire flag”
Martin Philips, ABC Committee Member
